January was the month where I tried to shut my laptop, turn off my television, and let my phone stay dead, that way I could live in the moment.

January was the month where I did not blog once until now because I was just too busy living.

January was the month where I had so many firsts in the matter of days and January was the month where I saw so much of this beautiful province I live in.

I started January off extremely different than I usually do. Usually I will be be at a New Year’s Eve party getting drunk and I’ll wake up and start off the new year with a huge hangover… hating my life. Instead this year Anita and I decided we did not want to do that, but instead we wanted to make homemade indian food and just relax on my couch.

We ended up falling asleep before 10pm and didn’t even make it to midnight. It was okay though because when I woke up the next morning I woke up refreshed and ready to start 2016 off right.

Days later I had my first “yes” moment. I went bungee jumping in Whistler. I was visiting someone in Vancouver and we decided to go to Whistler for one night. I surprised him with booking the bungee jumping, because why the hell not! We had talked about how we had never done it before, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do it.

I was terrified. I had never EVER wanted to go bungee jumping and it was never written on my bucket list, but I figured it’s an adventure and I want to do as much as I can this year in the adventure field. I had the worst panic attack of my life on the bridge and eventually the guy working there had to just give me a little push so I would jump. It was so surreal and such an amazing feeling free falling.

I had such a wonderful weekend of firsts while I was in Vancouver/Whistler that weekend. I visited Vancouver for the first time and fell completely in love with the city, I escaped from an escape room in Gastown beating a record for the quickest escape! (Go us!!), I visited Whistler for the first time, I had room service for the first time, and of course I tried Vegemite for the first time ever. (never try it… it’s actually disgusting.)

On top of seeing Vancouver and Whistler, I also saw Kamloops for the first time with Anita. It was a fun night full of drinking wine and dancing.

My best friend from college came to B.C. for a trip this month as well! It was really nice seeing him and showing him around this beautiful place and sharing my new world and life with him.

I went cross country skiing the other day with Anita and Kristie, which was so much fun. Being outside, on a mountain, surrounded by snow and laughter is the best medicine ever.

January was an amazing month and it’s been the perfect first month of 2016. It’s the first month where I really feel like Kelowna and British Columbia has become my home. I feel like I’ve finally started a life here. I’ve met some really incredible people and I can’t wait to see what else I get up to this year.

I’m Molly! Wherever I go, I search for the magic this world has to offer. I’m a cat lover, caffeine drinker, a reader of all the books and a feeler of all the feels. My life is full of positivity and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
