I can’t believe it’s almost been three months since I moved to British Columbia.
So much has happened in these past three months so I thought I would do a bit of a life update for you all.
My job here is a lot more demanding than my previous job, as I’m writing up to 10 articles a day. Although it’s more demanding a bit more stressful I love it. It’s an amazing feeling finishing a really great article. I’ve had the chance to write about so many amazing things and soon I am starting a mini refugee series. I’ll be speaking to a man who came to Canada years ago and has done so well for himself.

I’ve also had the opportunity to meet a few amazing females that are now in my life. Sadly this weekend I had to say goodbye to one of the first people I met in Kelowna.
Cassandra is an incredibly talented and intelligent woman. She can write a kickass story and she’s so much fun to be around. Even though I’ve only known her for a couple of months I feel like I have known her for so long. I love having proper life conversations with this lady and watching Gilmore Girls together.
Although it was hard saying goodbye to her I know I will see her again soon, wherever she ends up.
I also had the chance to meet Anita. Anita and I are seriously old souls together. Her and I have experienced a lot of the similar life experiences and I think that has brought us quite close. Anita is also an incredible writer and having her as my boss is really teaching me a lot.

Even though I have only been working here for not even three months I feel like my writing skills have improved and I can’t wait to learn so much more.
Outside of work my life has been in a slight rut. As you may or may not know I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. This means I get a lot more down in the winter and go kind of into a slump. I feel like I’ve been in that slump for the past month or so and I’ve been trying to slowly come out of it.
I’ve had a hard time writing on this blog because after writing all day, I am exhausted. It’s hard to write all day and come home and write in the evening, but I’m starting to get a proper thing going. I’m excited to get back into the blogging world and see where it takes me in 2016.
All in all my life is pretty good. I have a beautiful apartment, a beautiful cat, an amazing job, and I live in the most beautiful province there is. Every day I shake my head in disbelief that I actually live somewhere where there are snow covered mountains.
In a few days it’s Christmas and although Christmas is always a hard time for me I’m looking forward to it. I have a hard time with Christmas because I am never around my real family, but I’ve always considered my friends family. I can’t wait to pop Prosecco with Anita, eat Indian food, watch tons of Christmas films, and open our presents together.
What are your Christmas traditions/plans?
Sometimes your friend circle decreases in size, but increases in value.
