Lush Love

I officially have fallen in love with Lush Cosmetics.

For my birthday my dear friend Steffanie surprised me with a Lush goodie bag and it started my love affair with the organic beauty products.

Now I’ve always known about Lush. I hear people going on about the company all the time, but I had never personally tried the products myself. When I started reading the information package with my birthday gift I was so pleased.

I’ve been trying to move away from makeup and bath products that are full of chemicals and words I can’t pronounce and that test on animals. Lush is actually the perfect company for me. All of the products are organic, either vegetarian or vegan (honey is in a lot of vegetarian products) and it’s all cruelty-free! Hallelujah!

I went into the store yesterday because I needed to get a new face wash. My face and I haven’t been getting along lately and I’ve been breaking out really bad.

The lovely girl that works at our local Lush came up to me and asked me what I was browsing for.

This is a standard practice for retailers but this young girl, probably my age was so great. She showed me the different face washes and brought me over to some set-up where she tried the different products on my hands. She’d lather my hands up with the product, wash them in hot water, and then try another so I could feel the difference before I bought anything.

I seriously wanted her to be my friend!

I ended up making three purchasing. I bought the Aqua Marina face wash.

It’s a soothing mix of calamine and aloe vera with seaweed and sea salt.

I also picked up the Eau Roma Water. This toner water is a gentle rose and lavender tonic for everyday use. It helps hydrate dry and sensitive skin without causing a reaction.

The lady that helped me told me to keep it in the fridge, that way when I spray it on my face it will be a cold mist, which will also help shrink my pores more.

The final thing I picked up was the rehab shampoo.

If anyone knows me they know I used to have extremely short hair. I’ve started to grow my hair out and it could seriously use some TLC.. that is for sure. I use a blow dryer and a straightener on my hair quite regularly so it tends to feel damaged.

This shampoo is supposed to soften the hair and gently condition the scalp while bringing the hair back to its natural best. Another lady in the store told me she uses the shampoo and it has helped her hair grow, so I will check back with how this shampoo goes for me!

Inside my birthday gift from Steffanie were tons of goodies, but two extra-yummy products.

The first was the Yummy Mummy shower gel. This purple gel smells divine and lathers so well on the skin.

The other product that I get so excited about using is the Ro’s Argan body conditioner. It’s essentially a body conditioner that you can use after you use body wash. You put it all over your body and then rinse it off. The conditioner replaces the need to moisturize after the shower because it does just that IN the shower!

So, I am officially and utterly in love with these organic products that are made without hurting any animals.

Yay for Lush for getting with the times and creating great products that aren’t killing/hurting other beings to make money!

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you  have to live.

It works so well! I recommend you try it out. We’ll have to go on a lush shopping trip soon! I need more facial moisturizer.
