My September goals

My September goals

September for me is going to be a month of traveling, change, and new beginnings, but that’s a whole other post.. This is about my goals, and what I want to accomplish in September. Lately I’ve been trying to live a more present life, and I want my goals to reflect that.

Do small acts of kindness

I know it’s not September yet, but yesterday morning the car in front of me at Tim Hortons bought my coffee for me. That small act of kindness completely made my day, and I want to start doing more of that for the people in or out of my life.

I want to remind people why I love them, and how much they mean to me for being in my life. I also want to show strangers how great life can really be.

Small acts of kindness do not have to be extravagant, they can simple be a smile, a hello, or holding the door open for a stranger. Recently I sent post cards to some people in my life for a surprise reminder that I appreciate their existence.

Spend quality time with my family

In one week I will be in Nova Scotia for my brother’s wedding, and my dad will be visiting from England. I haven’t seen my dad in almost five years, and before that it was probably close to another seven years. Spending time with him, his wife, my brother, and my soon to be sister in law will be crucial for this trip, and exactly what I want and need right now. I can’t wait to show my dad where I grew up.

On top of visiting family I will also get to reconnect with some friends I haven’t seen in almost two years, which will be really heartwarming. Nova Scotia will always have a special place in my heart, and I cannot wait to smell the salt water air.

Be more present in life

I want to take a phone and internet break to cleanse my mind of all the senseless and useless information I put in it on a daily basis. Facebook can be such a procrastinating tool that I need to stop using so much.

I love any type of social media platform, but I want to focus more on MY life and MY experiences, not others. Spending my time in Nova Scotia will be a nice cleanse because I know I won’t be attached to my digital addictions.

Kick butt for the last bit of time I have in Thompson

Soon I will be packing myself and my cat Obi up in my little car, and driving to British Columbia for my next adventure, and a career move. This is all so exciting, but I’ve loved my time in Thompson, so I want to make the most of it while I still have time.

Focus more on my health and wellness

I want to start eating better. I want to eat fresh food, and less processed foods. I want to put good things into my body to prolong my life. I want to love my body, and have my body love me back.

I want to spend time everyday feeding my soul and not just my stomach. I want to focus more on what I’m eating and enjoy it, rather than eating to be full.

Write more

No matter what type of goals I make I always include to write more because it’s my passion. I write for a living, so sometimes writing for a hobby can be hard, but I want to buckle down and make it happen.

Whether that be this blog, my gratitude journal, post cards, snail mail or just a normal journal I want to write down my life, so I can remember it always.

What are your September goals?

A note from the Universe: A goal or a dream that doesn’t challenge the dreamer to become more than they’ve ever been, to go where they’ve never gone, and to feel things they’ve never felt, is actually like wishing for a giant life-snooze button.

Great list of goals! I’d like to be present more also..I think sometimes there’s a lot of pressure as a full time blogger to be active on the blog and social media each day. For that reason alone I have a hard time taking time off for days at a time. I always feel the itch to get back to it. I’d like to get more organized in my days. I think I don’t have a set schedule of things to do, which has its pros, but the cons are that by the end of the day many things get left undone. I’d like to begin setting daily, weekly, and monthly goals. I think that will help with my productivity. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration! Btw, I really love your logo. Very clever!

Great goals. I haven’t made my September goals yet. I’m still frantically trying to finish August goals. I’m a little stressed out right now, so that will definitely be a big part of September….letting that go.

Great list of goals! I’m on board with all those, too! I’ve been trying hard this year to send more mail to those I love, just because. It’s nice to get something in the mail besides bills and junk. Being more present in life is a big one, too. My honeymoon in Hawaii is in 30 days. I think that’ll be a great refresh for me, too! And i’ve started being healthier and more mindful of what I put into my body and exercising, too! I feel so much better when I do my work outs and devotionals and eat less crap out of a box!!
