November Goals

I’m slightly confused about how November has already started and I’m making my November goals already! Am I the only one who thought October flew by? Now that it’s November there are only two more months of 2015, which means there’s going to be New Year Resolutions coming in a blink of an eye.

I’ve really enjoyed doing these monthly goals.

I like to look back on the past month and see if I’ve really accomplished what I set out to. Looking back at my October Goals I think I did every single one of them justice, which makes me really proud.

Here are my November goals, which I hope I will do justice to as well.

1. Go on a spending detox

This means I will not be buying any clothing or makeup or anything that I do not need this month. I want to start making my wardrobe into a capsule wardrobe so I will be putting a stop to any useless purchases.

2. Plan my meals

I want to start making meal plans because I think they will help me save money as well as stay healthy. Today I went grocery shopping and spent $50 and made a huge pot of vegetarian chilli, a bunch of vegetable soup, and I am about to make some slow cooker vegetarian lasagna. These three things I will be eating for the next week and a half. I won’t have to worry about what I’m going to eat, and I won’t be spending money on lunches and dinners just because I’m too lazy to cook.

I will however allow myself to go out for dinner/lunch once a week.

3. Digital Detox

I watched a video on Youtube by Estee Lalonde about having a digital detox, and I became really interested in doing it. I can’t do it completely because I do work at an online news source so I have to be on the internet during the day. I want to spend the majority of my evenings unplugged, whether it be reading, being outside or even just drawing. I also want to start waking up and not checking my phone right away. I’ve become so attached to my phone that I need to step back and remember life will still exist without my cell phone being attached to my hip.

I want to spend more time outside in the fresh air, because nothing makes me feel mentally and physically better than being outside.

4. Cook more

This goes with #2 in a way but I think it deserves a number for itself as well. Lately I have really been enjoying cooking meals and I want to keep doing it. I’ve decided once and for all to stop eating meat for good. You can read about my decision why here. Since then I’ve found that I really love cooking and it’s quite relaxing for myself. I enjoy making a good meal, and enjoying it after work.

5. Journal

I write for a living and I come home and write for this blog, so I want to write for myself privately more. I am quite an emotionally driven person and I think if I wrote more in my journal about what I’m feeling and what I want to accomplish it would do a lot of good for myself.

6. Schedule myself

From now on I am going to be posting on my blog every Wednesday and every Sunday. I wanted to make myself a schedule so I stick to it, and you readers can know when a new post will be on the blog!

Personally I want to schedule my time better as well by making to do lists for everyday and accomplishing what I set out to.

What are your goals for this November? Leave me a comment and maybe your goal this month will be one of my goals next month!

I love reading goal posts! My goal for November is to be more intentional with my time as well; to get all my blog work done during the day so I can spend more time with my husband at night!

I love your goals! Meal planning is HUGE in our house. If we don’t plan we are always scrambling to find dinner and wind up spending so much more.

Your website looks great! I love your goals. The digital detox sounds like a great idea! I work in social media so between my full time job and my blog, I feel like I’m always online!

I loved that video and had the same idea about it I’m trying to do just one whole day a week (besides blogging time) all unplugged. No social media at all. I too, agree with many of your other points on time management and taking better care of ourselves. AND journaling! Yes, I blog too and feel I need to write a brain dump… 🙂 Good luck!
