My October Favourites are now here! The month went so quickly, so here are some things I loved having/using.
The first thing I’ve been loving is my new sleeping mask from Winners. I wanted to get a mask because I have to get up pretty early for my new job. I thought if I had a mask on it would stop me from checking my phone and staring at the walls. It makes it easier to fall asleep because no matter what all I see is black. It seems like as soon as I put it on now I fall asleep and have a great sleep. I picked this up from Winners for $5.00.
The second thing I have been loving this month is this heating thing. I’m not really sure what the proper name for it but you microwave it and it smells like lavender and its a heating pad for your shoulders. I have pretty bad back problems so putting this on my shoulders after work feels incredible. I also picked this up from Winners for about $7.00.
The third thing is a book I recently finished. Binge by Tyler Oakley is a memoir type book where Tyler Oakley shares stories from his life. He’s a Youtuber and an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights as well as The Trevor Project, which is a suicide helpline. He’s hilarious and so open about his life and his experiences. I finished the book in three sitting.
I love autumn because I love fall fashion. This jumper was a steal of a deal from Joe Fresh for $5.00. I picked it up in this colour as well as grey. It’s just the perfect thing to throw on to look casual but professional enough to wear it to work (and wine tastings). I find myself wearing these jumpers almost every other day.
It’s no secret that I enjoy a drink here and there and this month I’ve been loving wine. Although this isn’t a local Okanagan wine it still tastes pretty good to me. My favourite wine I’ve had so far in Kelowna is from The Hatch. I would have used that for the picture but it’s all gone.
This scarf is also a favourite of mine. I love cats and this is the perfect accessory for me. I love scarves in the fall because they can keep your neck warm, and look pretty cute. I often wear black so having a lighter coloured scarf works well for me and I get a lot of use out of it.
Zoella lotion is a favourite no matter the month. This lotion is helping keep my body silky smooth as the winter edges closer to us.
The final thing I’ve been loving is my Ipad. I won my Ipad through a staff draw at the restaurant I worked at in Manitoba. It’s been perfect for watching Youtube videos while cooking as well as getting some blogging work done. I recently got Netflix and it’s been the perfect thing to watch Netflix in bed with.

Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.

November 2, 2015 at 11:36 pmIs Black Hills still open? They were one of my absolute favorite wineries in the area. Recently had a Malbec from Church and State and it wasn’t half bad (think it’s in Oliver though).

November 3, 2015 at 1:57 amI’ve been tempted to get an eye mask but I think I’m just freaked out on something being on my head for 6-8 hours while I sleep. LOVE your scarf! The cats are definitely different.

November 3, 2015 at 8:45 pmI was always weirded out about an eye mask. Once it’s on you don’t feel it. I usually wake up and it’s off my head anyways, but it makes it easier to fall asleep!

November 3, 2015 at 8:53 pmI love fall fashion too. It’s actually been unseasonably warm in NJ so I haven’t had a chance to wear all my favorite sweaters and scarves! I’m loving wine every month! I’m more a red drinker in the fall and winter months.

November 5, 2015 at 12:11 amI agree with you on the red wine! What’s your favourite wine to drink? I love trying new stuff. Hopefully it cools down a bit so you can break out the sweaters and scarves 🙂

November 8, 2015 at 8:40 pmI love reading memoir books like the one you mentioned (obsessed with anything Mindy Kalling puts out there) I’ll have to look into Binge! Thanks for the recommendation!
